SUCCESSFUL in 2008!
SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2008
COLUMBIA CLARION TOWNHOUSE HOTEL
Brothers of Alpha Eta,
Last Saturday, June 14, 2008, the AH Advisory Board and AH pledges met at the
Clarion Hotel in Columbia. The meeting was attended by nine Advisory Board
members and nine pledges along with PKS Grand Tau, Jim Fulmer and his wife,
Nancy.
At the meetings, the following agenda items were discussed and acted upon:
1) An AH alumni group was formally organized primarily to support the newly
organized chapter of Alpha Eta. An application for 501(3)(c) Nonprofit
Organization status has been filed. The organization is titled "Phi Kappa
Sigma Alumni Association of South Carolina, Inc."
Interim officers of the Alumni Association are current Advisory Board
Officers. An Association Board of Directors was also appointed. Officers
and Directors will be decided at the 2008 Silver Skulls Reunion, scheduled Sep
18 - 21, 2008.
The Association's dues are $25 annually and are due Aug 1 of each year.
The Association membership is open to any Phi Kappa Sigma Alumni who
achieved active status. PKS Brothers of other chapters are permitted
membership. Membership is not limited to South Carolina residents.
2) The Association's By-laws were drafted and acted upon.
3) An Alpha Eta Chapter Advisory Committee was formed to mentor and supervise
the AH Chapter.
4) An AH Financial Assistance Committee and AH House Finance Committee were
also selected.
5) The Pledge Class planning meeting resulted in:
Chapter By-laws
Chapter annual budget
Future Recruiting events
Fall Rush planning
On campus meeting facilities
My sincere thanks to all who attended and participated in this very important
step in the recharter of Alpha Eta. A special thanks to Jim and Nancy Fulmer
for their help, particularly in guiding the pledges through the planning
sessions.
I will continue to update you on the progress made toward rebuilding the Alpha
Eta Chapter. Your suggestions and comments are always welcomed.
Fraternally,
Steve Counts, President
Phi Kappa Sigma Alumni Association of SC, Inc.
